Rusalka


Opera in 4 acts by Dargomizhsky; libretto by the composer based on a play by Pushkin; premiered in St. Petersburg on May 18, 1856.
The opers tells Natasha, a betrayed girl who drowns herself and is transformed into the water sprite 'Rusalka' to lure men to their deaths.
There is also an opera by Dvorak bearing the same name.
