A ballet by Prokofiev based on Shakespeare's tragic love story. Prokofiev composed the music in 1935 or 1936 for Kirov Ballet. The ballet consists of 4 acts 10 scenes with a total of 52 dance numbers. Many people believe that Prokofiev's music is the greatest ballet score ever written.
