(Die Konigin von Saba), Opera in 4 acts by Karl Goldmark; libretto by Mosenthal based on Biblical texts concerning the Queen of Sheba's visit to the court of King Solomon. The plot centers on a love triangle not found in the Bible between the Queen of Sheba, Assad, and Sulamith.
Premiere: at the Hofoper in Vienna, on March 10, 1875. Goldmark's most famous opera.
